I thought this was a pretty good deal, so I checked the web site, yep and, yep, its in stock at my local store. Headed down to the store, and didn't see anything of the sort. Asked the associate in the "Outdoor Living" section of the store. She said, and I quote, "the web site lied". Chatted with Walmart chat line when I got home, and got some gobbledygook about calling the local store to check inventory. Anyway, I hope everybody else has the good fortune that rgriffeath did!

It it does seem to be an inventory reduction since there are 2-packs of KBB @16.7lbs for $16.96.

They em could have sold out.

I got mine. Had to ignore the bigger bag 2 packs for $16.something piled up just inside the front door and make my way back to the outdoor section to find the real deal.

I'm not really familiar with Wallmarts Web site (usually try to avoid them like the plague to many friends had their CC# stolen, here in Lubbock) but don't they usually have a buy on line pick up in store? if online says the cheaper price do that. Just a thought. (now that Walmart has been forced to use the chip fraud has gone down tremendously)

GadjetGriller - I've never bought anything on-line from them, and won't start now. Anyway, when they say "In store only", that means there is no buy on-line and p/u in store available. I really don't care as I'm not about to drive all over town to save a few Â$ on charcoal, but I was going to Lowes right across the street yesterday, so what the hay? The attitude expressed by the associate saying "The web site lied" was sufficiently irritating to get me to try to contact them. Waste of time.

I had to search all over the store, and the cashier in the outdoors section had no idea. Finally found a Kingsford display in the middle of the checkout lanes that had the 2x15 lbs pack, but they were labeled as 16.96 just like the 2x16.7 lbs pack. I grabbed 3 packs and had the cashier scan them: 7.88. I told her they had them mislabeled at 16.96. They were changing the display price when I left. Sometimes they have no idea what they have in stock, and there were no less than 4 places in the store with kingsford charcoal stocked. Only one had the 2x15 lbs pack. Glad I spent the time to look myself. The employees were no help at all, and seemed a little perturbed when I told them they had the price wrong. Oh well. I got mine.

Maybe that means I need to look a little harder... I've only seen the $16.96 ones. Yeah, they didn't like it when I told them they had a grill mislabeled either. They had a 22" premium Weber kettle with a sign in front that said $69.97. I offered to buy a couple and they said not at that price.

The exact thing happened to me. No display of the correct price. The two different sizes were on the same pallet and I didn't notice the 16.7 lb when I was loading up my cart with 7 dual bags. I had to show the guy the WM website on my phone. I finally got it straightened out and loaded up
