PaulstheRibList bought it by the pallet last year. Maybe that was two years ago.......... He knows how to do it right. Just back the truck up, go in back and tell them to load the whole pallet. Done. It would feel pretty awesome doing that.
Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.
Started Low-N-Slow BBQ in 2012. Obviously, it's taken hold (in chronological order:
1.) A pair of Weber Smokey Mountain 22.5's
2.) #LilTex, a 22" Expensive Offset Smoker (looks like a Yoder Witicha)
3.) #WhoDat1, a HUGE Gravity Fed Insulated Cabinet Smoker (cooking chamber 3'x2'x6')
4.) A Full Size Commercial Dryer/converted to Vertical Smoker.
5.) Jambo Backyard stickburner (my FAVORITE Pit so far)
6.) GrillMeister, a huge 24"x48" Adjustable, Charcoal Grill from Pitmaker.com
7.) 22" Weber Kettle with Slow-N-Sear
8.) Vault insulated reverse-flow cabinet smoker from Pitmaker
9.) BarbecueFiretruck...under development
10.) 26 foot BBQ Vending Trailer equipped with HUGE Myron Mixon 72xc smoker is HERE, Oct 2016!
11.) Opened www.PaulsRibShackBarbecue.com Food Trailer officially in March 2017
12.) Austin Smoke Works 500 Gallon Propane Tank Offset Smoker, named "Lucille" as travel pit for PaulsRibShack, Oct 2018.
12.) Opening Brick & Mortar location at 4800 Nelson Rd, Spring 2019. Had a pair of 1,000 Gallon Austin Smoke Works pits, both in RibShackRed for our new place!
Fabulous Backlit Thermapens, several Maverick Remote Thermometers (don't use any remotes anymore), Thermoworks Smoke, Other Thermoworks toys, Vacuum sealer, lots and lots of equipment...
I'm loving using BBQ to make friends and build connections.
I have #theRibList where I keep a list of new and old friends and whenever I'm cooking, I make 1 to 20 extra and share the joy.

Way to go JPGators17 !!! Now you just have to show us lots of pics of your cooking!
Spinaker , It was actually....Two Pallets! Now I can't remember exactly, but I think a pallet is 48 bags? That makes it just shy of a ton, lol. Since I purchased that, I sort or quit using #WhoDat1, the big gravity-fed smoker, as our primary. My quest for perfect fire management has us focusing on those beloved stickburners! #WhoDat1 uses 4+ bags for a big brisket smoke! So we have a little over half of the charcoal left. The Raccoons in the warehouse like to tear open the bags and I guess eat some charcoal for a snack???
did I read on a post that you have a BBQ guru on my pbc? if so how was the installation of the adp, plate on the intake? and where did you put the themo. probe for it if you had the grill out?
Planner47 the guru was already installed on my pbc when I bought it from a guy on Craigslist, so I can't speak to the installation. I feed the probe through the rod holes just enough so that it hangs as far out from the side as possible.
I currently have 4 grills 2 gas (Weber spirit 700 and Weber 1000) 2 charcoal (Weber master touch 22 and PK360). I also have a cast iron hibachi and a joule Sous vide. I have multiple probe thermometers , MK4, Smoke, 2 chef alarm, ThermaQ and thermaK and a thermoworks IR with K probe port. for knives I love my Messermeister Olive elite and my TojironDP Gyutou. which I keep razor sharp using my edge-pro. I also have a weather station to keep an eye on good Grilling weather.
2 pallets of Kingsford, what fun lovin guy or gal would'nt love to have that in their garage. I had two bags left, bought ten & two RO lump, then a friend gave me two KB. I am trying to hide them in plain sight. So far so good. Although the protest will be just a whimper about budget & things. 2 pallets, one can only imagine. My friends thought I was a little off center when they moved me 2 1/2 yrs ago when they loaded up 6 bags. 2 pallets, now that would be MCS at its highest form.
I saw that Costco has the Kingsford competition premium charcoal on sale 2 18 lb bags for $14 and change. Is this better than KBB?
It is all about preference. I like KP better because it burns hotter with fewer ashes than KBB. I have also noticed there's less of the heavy, white smoke when you are first firing it up and there is less off-putting smells associated with KP versus KBB. The downside is since it burns hotter it also burns faster. For example, with KBB in my 22.5" kettle with SnS I can get 10-12 hours running at 250. With KP the burn times come down to 8-10 hours. The time difference is not a deal breaker for me so I will keep using KP.
Butchman my pleasure. That is why we are all here, to help where we can. I guess what I was trying to say earlier is the KP overall burns hotter and cleaner.
