I guess this is the right spot to ask - Charcoal seasonal sales

I know it's getting close, but can't remember when the big box stores have their semi-annual Kingsford Charcoal sale (2 bags/$9.99). Down to one bag from my last stock-up.

Is it usually in late April or mid May?

    Thanks.

At Costco (starting Thursday), Kingsford Professional is $19.99 for 2 bags, then a $5 coupon... so $14.99 for 2 bags.

Have to wait until Thursday though.

I got the flyer in the mail Saturday. The flyer says the limit is 3. So I have to go with my wife and shop separately a couple of days in a row.

I got the flyer in Saturday as well but do you need the flyer for the $5 discount? I think we threw the flyer away already.

@cwain - No flyer needed at the store. The item will be marked down to the flyer cost - go get 'em. I use the flyer to make my stock up list. .

Yeah, I'm down to 2 bags. I usually get mine at Home Despot, regular Kingsford 2 for 9.99. It's got to be close, timing that is.

Thanks guys. Just need to keep an eye out for the sale. I've gotten the professional bags at Costco before, but usually just load up on the regular blue bags.

First sale is normally precursor to Memorial Day holiday. Just buy what you need to get to mid-May. Then, everyone will have it on sale.

I've switched to B&B Oak briquettes. Running about $10 for 17.6 lb bag at Academy a couple of weeks ago (not on sale). All natural. Smelled great. Tasted great. Little, if any, of that typical smoke from coals lighting during the cook, as in a fuse method. Briquettes are a bit larger than typical B&W. Lasted comparably as long.

They also have Hickory, and lump.

          Just an FYI.

Someone else here also did a cook with them about the same time I did. I wanna say they were as impressed as I was with them.

I wish I could find B+B around Baltimore. I would love to give them a try.
