Will You Switch Brands of Charcoal After Watching This?

This just ran across my YouTube feed, pretty interesting facts about some popular charcoal briquette brands and their “fillers”. My only nitpick with this is his 2 best ones are lump and not briquettes, two different processes involved.

I ended the video as soon as he said "Royal Oak classic, the red and blue bag". The bag is red and yellow. If you can't at least be accurate with the bag description, why would I trust anything else depicted?

Since the 5 were briquettes why jump to lump? I'm not disputing the accuracy but jumping to a totally different process for the best is not solid reporting IMO.

If it’s on YT, it must be factually correct, right?

Homeland Security doesn't have a sense of humor about that kind of thing, Panhead John.

AI generated. More and more of these showing up on YT, sometimes hard to tell - this one actually put a generated video image of the supposed speaker in the middle of the video, like he was holding the camera.

I don't trust anything it says. But that's just me.

Def AI. I watched this yesterday and thought the same thing when it cut to that clearly fake guy holding the camera as he talks into it. He's moving around and the picture is perfectly still😂

Yup, I just checked the history for these two 'Channels' - Prime Rundown and Grill Verdict by Matt Garrison. Both total AI channels with a ton of videos just in the last month. It's all to try to make money off of clicks and most info on channels like this is just stuff AI has gathered in response to a topic inquiry, then they generate a video to try to stimulate engagement.

More barking dogs. Worse when it's AI-generated.

Remember these hot-button topics, whether "news" articles or videos, are designed to frustrate and stimulate engagement (clicks, shares, comments and arguments are all "engagement") and the creator(s) love it, they couldn't care less what you think of them or the video, or if what they're saying has any truth, just that your engagement = $. This is known as "rage bait" if you didn't already know the term. And using AI makes it dead simple to pop these out on tons of subjects for cashflow. YouTube supposedly doesn't allow monetizing for AI videos, but surely some slip through the cracks, so just like spammers, you will see more and more of these because if they throw enough crap at the wall some will stick.

So what you're saying is Panhead John made this video and is intentionally generating rage clicks by posting it here to stuff his wallet? It's all adding up...

Lol. Granola dad buys top rated single ingredient charcoal based on this video, then burns hotdogs on them. Oh the irony.

Totally could be me almost any day of the week. My garage door opener quit working like... 2 years ago. Using 'The Wife's Side' I have to try to run out, dodging her car mirror and my table of BBQ crap - I can't even count how many times I've been caught in the spine trying to duck under the closing door. <sigh>

Ha, I used to do that. After a few "doinks" I finally resorted to using the front door.

Now, now, don't be so hard on yourself. There probably are some slivers of truth in there (it got me thinking about it) but the amount of slop is incredible.

I’ve found that about once a week I have to go through my social media feeds and delete and block stuff that is adjacent to things I’m interested in. That charcoal thing keeps popping up for me, too, but I’ve ignored it so far.

Why would I change the charcoal I've been getting good results with? B&B Oak/Hickory works for me----also their lump.
Oh yeah, C-4 was invaluable for heating our coffee when in Viet Nam----maybe it would work as a last result when out of
charcoal. What would he say about that?
