URM, a wholesale/retail restaurant supply house and grocery, has Siesta Mesquite Charcoal, 40 pound bags, $8.39 per bag. Out of Mexico. I suspect that it is lump. The clerk said that they sell a lot of it, often by the pallet.
I will get some in due course. Anyone here with knowledge of or experience with? You Texas boys must have run in to it.

I bought 2 bags of a Mexican mesquite from a local eatery 2-3 years ago. Very sparky. Still have some, so didn't get the URM product. One taster, in kindergarten or so, thought it was too smokey. I thought was fine. Different brand from above.
Holy sparks! When I was in CA and didn’t wanna drive over the freeway to grab a bag of FOGO lump I’d grab the Mexican mesquite lump at the market by my house.
Always burned hot and clean…and had enough sparks to make you think it was a holiday celebration!

EDIT. Price correction. I took pictures, was on my knees. Price I cited is not correct. Price I cited is for a smaller quantity. Do not know 40 lb price.
When I'm running low and don't want to drive to HEB or Academy I buy 5 lb bags from the local Latin market, it works for me. Three different brands, I buy whichever is cheaper when I'm there. Some of the lump is not fully charred so there is a little mesquite character that comes through.

I’ve been using Mesquite lump charcoal from Mexico for many years. It does spark when it first catches fire, but nothing drastic. The only issue I would have with it is that some of the pieces are huge, but I just save those for longer cooks. We love the flavor and the smell.
