Was firing up the PK to do some prime ribeyes this evening and found something very interesting in the bottom of my jealous devil lump bag. It felt heavy, and was completely covered in soot so I had to wash it off to figure out what it was. Looks like my bag of charcoal paid for itself. I did some google research and their lump is made in Paraguay so I’m really curious how this would have gotten in my bag.

That is a nice find in a bag of lump. But, with all the non-monetary things other are finding in their lump, I think I'm going to stick with briquettes for now.

Congratulations on your awesome luck! Feel sorry for the poor sod that lost it, though. I have to wonder how in the world that came to be inside a bag of charcoal? Would a guy working in a Mexican or Paraguayan charcoal factory be walking around with a piece of silver worth $160 in his pocket, and even then be so careless as to somehow lose it inside a bag of charcoal? Not likely, I wouldn’t think. I’d be willing to bet that somebody hauled an old piece of furniture, maybe a desk, to the charcoal factory and got a pittance for it, not knowing this treasure lay inside the far reaches of a drawer or such, and this wonderful chunk of silver then rode its way completely through the charcoal production process, ending up in your bag. A mystery that can never be solved, but still fun to speculate about on a day when I don’t have a whole lot else to do.
