Now that both my daughters are living in the Minneapolis/St. Paul vicinity I drive by Costcos fairly frequently. I either need my own membership or have to have my daughter with a membership pick me up some of these to try.
I've been using some of the more "premium" charcoal my son sells at his store (B&B & Jealous Devil) in my PBC, Bronco and Weber Performer, but haven't been happy.. Either going to try these or go back to Kingsford.
I asked a manager at Costco about the Kirkland Charcoal because my local Costco only offered Kingsford Pro twin-pack for $18.99. He looked it up by name and said that Costco was removing that sku for all stores, meaning that Costco was doing away with them and he had no info regarding any potential replacement Kirkland branded charcoal.

I've gone through 2 bags of this stuff. It's ok. Nothing special for me.
it has ordinary light time, and it provides good heat, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Where it falls short for me is that it adds none of the "charcoal flavor" to the food that I've been able to notice. I still prefer my Cowboy briquettes, which are similarly priced at Wally World.
I certainly would use kirkland over Kingsford though, so there is that

I was at Costco yesterday.
The Kirkland brand is still priced at $18.99 for the 2 pack.
Did not notice an * on the price tag which is usually Costco code for an item about to be discontinued. 🤷♂️
