Where do y'all get your B&B briquettes?

Hi folks, I'm wondering where you go to get B&B briquettes where you live? On the B&B website, the "where to buy" link gives exclusively Ace Hardware locations. I don't know if that means they have some kind of deal with Ace, or whether it's really the case that other stores don't carry it. Unfortunately our nearest Ace is not very near (sufficiently far that we're outside their store delivery area, even). I can get it at Amazon but at double the price, not sensible to do that. I've come to really prefer it for low and slow, which what I almost always use my kettle for, almost always use the gasser with GrillGrates for hot/fast/searing.

Went to get the kettle set up for tomorrow's cook and forgot I'm plumb out of charcoal, so it'll have to be the pellet rig instead. I need to establish a reliable source for B&B. Thanks!

I first got them at a local grocery store but only the small bags.

Academy always carried the bigger bags.

Never saw them at the local Ace.

Unfortunately the nearest Academy is many hours away... and their website seems completely unresponsive, no links actually do anything (even on multiple browsers)... weird.

Dave, do you have an Academy in your area? That’s where I always get mine. Besides them and Ace Hardware, which looks not to be an option for you, try Walmart online. As far as I know, Walmart doesn’t sell them in the stores but online only. Academy is showing 3 stores in Virginia.

EDIT: Just checked a local Walmart and they ARE showing it in the store, so maybe some Walmarts do stock it.

Yup. I buy 10 at a time and have it delivered free to my home. I try to physically stay out of my local Walmart if at all possible.

DaveD I have ordered twice from Wal-Mart with free shipping.The challenge is it's not always available. Earlier in the summer other Pit members were able to order and I was not. I bookmarked it and kept checking until it was available again and ordered 10 bags. A week or two later it wasn't available, not it's available for me again.

While we were searching for B&B briquettes I stumbled on this. Walmart is 20 miles away, Academy is 85 miles away. This is going to save me time and money

My local Academy and 2 local Walmarts carry it all the time for the same $9.97 price.

The link that mrichie1229 suggested at Walmart was the ticket - drastically lower price than anywhere else, about half what it would be if I walked in to the nearest Ace (which is a half hour drive), and free delivery. Five bags for 53 bucks. Don't know how they can possibly be making money on the deal, but I'm fine with that

I mostly get mine from Ace. I am lucky enough to have three or four stores in easy driving distance. Each store has their own price and it can be seen online. The price ranges store to store by 2 to 5 dollars a bag. They also tell you if it is in stock if you pick your preferred store. You can also order it and pick it up. Make a day trip out of it and visit a local landmark. Knock if you are in Annapolis.

That being said I stocked up at the last Walmart special.
