Basque Sugar Maple Charcoal

So, I head down to Ace's to use my $10 b-day coupon, and they were very picked over, but I did grab a bag of FOGO (black) for $25.99 and a bag of the Basque Sugar Maple charcoal for $21.99. Sadly, they did not have any large B&B bags, or the ever-popular char-logs.

This Basque stuff looks like it might be pretty good. How fun.

Anyway, I thought I'd flag in case anyone else wants to hit up their Ace's for something a bit different. Of course, I'll post a review eventually once I've had a chance to use it, as it does seem a bit different than the usual Kingsford/B&B/FOGO etc. that is pretty popular around here .

I am now disappointed that Ace’s has apparently stopped carrying it. I guess it is one bag and done!

I’ll probably go back to MB lump anyways.

Well I did see this back at Ace’s the other day, but I cannot recommend it. So many tiny chips and chunks and very few sizable chunks of charcoal. I can see this bag going fairly quickly with all of the small pieces burning up.
