Pealing paint in the Masterbuilt Portable Electric Smoker
My family got me the Masterbuilt 20073716 Portable Electric Smoker for Christmas last year so I can take it camping with us and not haul my Weber grill. I've used it 3 times for ribs and have had meh success with it but after the last cook I wiped it out with just a wet rag and saw the paint started coming up. I'm new to electric smokers so is this something I should be concerned about or just put foil over it and forget about it?
Don't worry too much if it's just happening to the bottom. If it starts peeling on the top and sides, paint could end up on your food. Is that definitely paint or could it be built up creosote?
The way it came off I'm almost 100% its the paint. I'll keep an eye on it just in case and put foil down. It has a hard time holding temp but it does the job when nothing else is available.
