For my Birthday this year, my wife gifted me the new Ninja Sizzle. It is an indoor smokeless grill/griddle. It currently runs for $99.99 on Amazon, and I think it's a heck of a bargain at that price. It includes both a grill and flat-top griddle plate which each have 14 inches of useable cooking space. The plates are porcelain-coated steel in a very similar style to a standard Weber finish. They are non-stick to the point of almost feeling slippery with the movement of food (nothing will stick to these) Each plate also has an integrated drip tray (approx. 1/2" deep) and the unit is designed to have a mild slope to allow grease to collect in the drip tray. The controls on the unit are extremely simple, which I believe is why Ninja can offer this at under $100 retail. On the center front face of the unit, there is an analog temperature dial with a range of 200 to up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. The only other control on the unit is a power-on red indicator light on the left side. Ninja has included a label on the right side front face, with recommended pre-heat times for different cooking categories. The final feature of note on the unit is the perforated lid, which Ninja claims allows the unit to be "smokeless" When cooking with the lid down in my test cooks, I noticed minimal amounts of steam ventilating through the lid, but nothing that could be considered overly smoky. I will add photos of my first cooks in the comments below. Bottom Line - This is a nice unit for when you want to have something "grilled" or on a flat-top, but you just don't feel like firing up the outdoor cookers, or the weather is less than ideal. The grill plate does a decent job of adding grill marks to meat and has room enough for 6 standard-size burgers or 2-3 nice-sized steaks or chops, and the griddle plate can handle a decent-sized breakfast or stir fry. Clean up is extremely easy with the non-stick finish and the lid is detachable for cleaning.

My first test cook on the Sizzle was a T-Bone steak. I followed the directions from Ninja for the setup process then used my Weber Connect Hub that I was asked to test out as part of the group here in the Pit. I was pleased to see that the probe wire fit nicely under the lid and didn't interfere with the cooking process in any way. The steak came out a nice medium rare, so I was quite pleased with the results. I even threw on some mushrooms in Wortchesshire sauce to finish off the steak at the end.

Several other cooks I've tried out so far have included pancakes, which turned out nicely, but I needed to learn the right touch on flipping due to the slippery nature of the non-stick surface. I also did some basic hotdogs as well as a cheese quesadilla for my wife, which she said was better than what they make her at Chipotle. That one got me smiling.

- Whatever I brewed and have on tap! See it here: https://taplist.io/taplist-57685
- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
This is interesting for sure - I have an old griddle for the stove top, but using it means spattering grease all over the stove top, so it has pretty much just used for pancakes for the past 30 years. I would probably use something like this if I had it.

Thanks for sharing, I think. 🙄 I'm a fan of Ninja products. How about storage? I have a Presto griddle that stores nicely under counter. I don't want it on unless in use. Thanks

So, I checked and it will fit nicely under the counter where the other griddle resides. MCS struck. Ordered via Target. Same price and my wife has their Red Card, so 5% off which took care of the sales tax. Should be here by Wednesday.

It arrived today. It won't get used until Wednesday as tonight is tacos with leftover strip steak. Per instructions I did a burn off of manufacturing residue at 400 for 10 minutes on grill and griddle. I did this on the porch incase the residue smelled. It wasn't too bad. While on, I checked temperature with IR gun in different areas. Pretty close with hood up. When I closed for a bit then opened and checked a lot hotter. I'm sure there will be a learning curve just like the insert for the Spirit.

Looking forward to seeing what you make on it first.

Thanks, right now I'm thinking bacon and eggs. Maybe an omelette with stuff in it. Certainly will share so y'all's mouths will be waterin'. On another note, after ordering via Target my wife received an email for $10 off any order of ####. Not sure the value but the Sizzle exceeded it, so she called and asked if it could be applied. No problem. So $89. Better in our pocket than Target. They really are a solid merchant.
