    Char-Broil Digital Electric Smoker 725

    Has anyone tried this new unit

    I ask as my wife is wanting me to smoke more meats but since I got rid of my bigger rigs and only have a weber kettle now it is a little harder to do more meat for parties and such.

    this unit looks intresting as it is double walled, and charbroil can be hit and miss. I also like the idea that my wife can set the target meat temp, and then just close the door and check on it. she is having a hard time with smoking in the weber (my preferred unit).

    just thought I would see if anyone has used this unit yet.

    My BiL has a Charbroil electric smoker, I don't know if it's that one. I think he's kind of lukewarm about it. I didn't care for the ribs that came out of it, but that could be for any reason, not necessarily the fault of the unit. I'll ask him if he has any thoughts, and I'll get back.

      Flavor for many foods coming out of an electric smoker, just isn't as good as other smokers that burn fuel creating combustion gas. For set it and forget it ease of use, a pellet smoker would be better, but more expensive. Still, the 725 has Char-Broil's new Smart Technology that allows you to control and monitor it from your cell phone. Then again, so do Green Mountain pellet smokers.
