    Competition BBQ

I am thinking about entering a BBQ contest or two next year in Florida. I just got a Backwoods G2 Party, which is what I would cook with, and have joined the Florida BBQ Association. Does anyone have suggestions for books about competitive BBQ cooking?

A friend of mine attended this 2 years ago and said it was a lot of fun. A little rich for my blood...

That was a good class! Actually since you'll be competing under FBA, look for a Swamp Boys class. Rub does a great job and he can inform on FBA and KCBS methods. Bill Anderson's Competition BBQ Secrets is a very good book.

The Pit Barrel Cooker May Be Too Easy

The PBC has a rabid cult following for good reason. It’s among the best bargains for a smoker in the world. This baby cooks circles around cheap offset smokers because temperature control is so much easier. Click here to read our detailed review and the raves from people who own them.
