Campground we are at are having a competition. I'm planning to do smoked deviled eggs, to separate myself from the usual chicken and pulled pork that everybody loves to do.
Thinking of doing a spicy and not spicy split. Looking for some recipes to step it up to the next level.
I generally boil eggs, peal them and smoke them at low temps for an hour or so, and make a traditional deviled egg.
I have smoked eggs in the shell, and also after peeling and pulling the yoke out. If your smoke source provides a heavy smoke I would suggest only smoking in the shell.
And this one she does 50/50 mayo and miracle whip even though we don't like MW she said it takes this one over the top. I've smoked whites only for this one.
Oh and I use a jalapeno and a pickle to help identify which ones are spicey. I've also used visually different rubs for the sprinkle but the average person understands jalapeno = hot pickle = not
Add bacon bits and diced pickled jalapeños. That turns also ran eggs into incredible deviled eggs. For a great look make the traditional deviled eggs then insert the pieces of jalapeño and bacon instead of mixing them in. You won’t be troubled with leftovers.
