Thanks to the club for the win

I won our company chili contest at our Halloween party. I got some great ideas from this forum. New things I did: beef broth instead of water, canned roasted tomatoes (one with garlic), and sweet onion. Thanks for sharing your wisdom!

Sadly…I forgot to take photos. Aside from the ingredients above, I used 2 lbs ground chuck and used a garlic butter and lemon juice (prefer lime) when cooking the onions. I used a minimal store chili spice as a base but added a lot of spices from the cabinet. I think the thing that pushed it over was a full Mt. Olive roasted red pepper.

Congrats on getting the win! Hopefully you have the recipe written down for next time, something I don't always do.

Same her Redwng! I go into a bit of "mad scientist" mode when I cook chili. Sad because I sometimes am REALLY pleased with the batch but I didn't write down what "little of this and that" that I used.

Congratulations on the win. Not sure how you did it without beans in the recipe.

Funny...it was my first without beans. We have a few Texans at the company and they are biased toward the non-bean chili. For the family, I usually mix in red kidney beans and pintos.
