I’m reviewing the rules for KCBS competition, considering entering my first full on comp. I see the legal heat sources as only charcoal, pellets, etc, but what about heating a sauce. Must that be done on the same or is it OK to use a gas burner?

Heating sauce is legal over gas. Just meat isn't. Don't put meat in your sauce heating over a gas flame.
