I won $500.00 for steak and was rewarded $63 from peoples choice. Wasn't a complete loss but I know I can do better. Need to get a carlise warmer for future comps. My food I think did get a little cold, but definitely cooked better then pueblo IMHO. The level of competition was 2nd only to Frisco Challenge. #1 and #6 in the country, kcbs, were there along with multiple top RMBS Members. I loved it. Gave me a gauge. Not heartbroken. Just know what I got to do to compete with big boys. I'm creative. Once I kinda know what judges are looking for. (Sweetness level) I'll be fine.

In my opinion, it can be too much to do PC and learn to compete at the same time!

PC isn't bad. I just fire my CMG with Amazon tube on Friday and let it go to town. No fire management. Chill in cooler overnight. Reheat next day. Some make it weekend before freeze it warm it up on Saturday. This comp others I found out put ALL 4 MEAT leftovers out there.

Oakgrovebacon Thank you bud. I know I'm not going to make a million dollars doing this. Its all about meeting new people and maybe just maybe win enough money to pay for entry fee and meat.
        Spinaker Thank you stud.

BPS rubs. Butter baisting after the flip. Blend of Kingsford blue bag and kingsford mesquite. Let steak come up to room temp. 2 zone fire. GRILL 500 degrees. After 8 min of searing I actually had to place on cold side for about 4 min to get it to 132. Rest 20 min. Turn in temp is between 135-140.
