Thank you gentlemen. Believe it or not there was 2 guys who placed at the world championships past couple years that were competing also. It was a BLAST.. $25.00 WEBER I found on Craigslist and a cast iron grate off my gas grill (for sear marks) is all it took along with a little mexican enginuaty...

Dang! Been in Chama NM since last Wednesday. Didn't even know about the event in Alamosa. Would have been fun to be there to see you claim the honors. Congratulations.

Mike's a good guy. Actually, it's on my bucket list to cook a Colorado contest. Never cooked out that way.

CandySueQ if you can ever come out this way, talk to mike about pellet cooking at this altitude. This way you can adjust your cook times. Different animal then sea level or close to. I believe he runs with an E5. OF course he uses BBQ Delight pellets.

Deaf Arty yea you weren't to far. We actually travel through New Mexico quite frequently. Family in Alberquere, Grants, Questa, Cerro, Toas, Espanola. Nothin like the red chili from Chimayo. Best in the world for enchiladas, torta juevos, etc.

smokinfatties not as good as I wanted. Amazing thing is peoples choice people ramped n raved about sauce work. Judges didn't agree. RMBS is all about the honey I guess. Everyone keeps telling me if you think its sweet, go sweeter. I know I'm going to have to go do some classes. Stuck in the 640's. Got kosmos video classes and stuck to them to a tee. Except the rubs. Used his soaks, injections, and some sauces. Saving up right know to see if I can get to Phoenix in dec for shake n bake and getting basted class.

Won money with sauce 50/50 Blues Hog original and Head Country. I do strain the big gunk out of Blues Hog first.

CandySueQ Thank You for the tip. Been wanting to try head country. When I met johnny Trigg in Frisco he told me he uses head country. Sounds like good stuff. It's a classic. My kinda sauce
