    Plymouth Kielbasa Festival 2025!

One of my favorites. First, the important part: the haul.

I pretty much just bought kielbasa everywhere, until I couldn’t carry any more. There were also a couple bbq trucks; I got 2 brisket sandwiches, in the front. More on those later.

    Nice shirt this year!

I’ll get right to the kielbasa.

Dymski’s represents. Tarnowski’s wins the top prize, but Dymski’s is the best.

This is the guy who spoke English. All the others only spoke Polish.

Grilling kielbasa is a little fattier than regular. It pops and sputters on the grill. Next to that is traditional, which is double smoked. I got one of each, and also a regular, which is single smoked. This guy was great, he talked kielbasa like Texas pitmasters talk bbq.

Glen Lyon Brothers also represents, with their truck plus both trailers. This is a damn good sausage. Glen Lyon Kielbasa is owned by the Tarnowski Brothers. Tarnowski’s Kielbasa is owned by John and Annie Vishnefski. It’s complicated.

J&A Farm. They’re a smaller operation. I’ve never tried their product, so I bought a small ring.

I also bought a stick from Joe’s. Props to Joe for bringing the smoker!

I missed a lot of shots, I was getting photo and food fatigue. It doesn’t matter.

The rest of these are shot because, well, it’s a beautiful day. Try to dive into them, if you would please.

If you’re going to open a Polish restaurant and deli, Plymouth PA (despite the English name) is the place to do it!

      Oh: the barbecue.

Bulldog BBQ is pretty decent. Nice smoke ring. They brought the rig with them! The lady said they had to go out to somewhere around Texas for it. It has a grill, a griddle, and even a deep fryer! (Sticks plus propane.)

Uncle Buck’s BBQ is rough. Uniformly grey brisket, sliced way too thin like lunch meat. Not a good product, substandard even for NE PA.

Looks like a bunch of fun and a bit of gluttony Tom. Hope you enjoyed yourself as much as I enjoyed the trip with you.

I actually ATE very little. We went out for breakfast to Tammy’s Diner, which moved from a little hole in the wall in Larksville (just north of Plymouth)

And then tonight was the St Jude’s Church picnic, which I’ll report on tomorrow. But after tomorrow I got some moving of teeth to do.

Love it! Nothing like an authentic Polish sausage. There’s a sizable Polish community here in the Milwaukee, WI area. Many real Polish deli’s around and there’s an annual Polish festival that’s outstanding.

I loved the Rock and Roll cheesesteak menu. And a taco stand at a kielbasa festival? Hey. Why not? 🤷‍♂️

Looks like a winner Tom. 👍👏👌

                    Why not exactly!

Picosita’s is authentic almost to a fault. Take that comment at 100% face value.

Looks like a fun event! There is so much to sample but not enough time or large enough stomach. Maybe if it lasted a week you could do it justice.

Looks like a great day, Tom! The vendors need to sell samples for a dollar, so you could try everything.

Glen Lyon was selling mini sticks for $1!

But, yeah. I was trying to do that. As it evolved, I rationalized it by figuring I could buy the whole ring, portion it into sandwich sized lengths, and freeze them. I’ve held vac sealed frozen kielbasa and Texas style cooked/smoked for over a year with no perceptible loss of quality.

I love to peruse events like these. Just kick back, wander around, check out the food and nick nacks, inhale deeply over all the wonderful aromas and talk to the vendors. Transports me back to when I was a kid.

                      Thanks for sharing.
