Feb 2, 2025 2nd Annual Great American Jewish Festival & Kosher BBQ - Lake Worth Beach, FL

I am considering flying in for this. I know we've got some members in the area, so I thought I'd share this.

We are excited that you are here to join us for another amazing Kosher BBQ Competition here in South Florida!

Supposedly Jeremy Yoder from Mad Scientist BBQ is going to be there, I know Frank Cox SmokerBuilder is going to be there, bringing along a full-size Smokeslinger pit for people to check out, with live cooking on the pit and snacks for the crowd. These are some cool pits, I got to play with one over the weekend at the Smokeslinger headquarters down in Kaufman, TX. If you've not seen a Smokeslinger, check them out, they're at Smokeslinger.com and are quite impressive. Very versatile cooker, can use charcoal or wood, direct heat, offset style, reverse flow style and now a griddle insert for smashburgers, making bacon, fajitas, cheesesteaks, etc. We did most of these styles over the weekend - they even cooked up some of my personal homemade hot links! lol The full size or mini Smokeslinger is a great, solidly built, versatile backyard pit. And heavy duty as can be, I can vouch for that! Serious quality welds, too.

    I'm a fan, if you haven't noticed.

Also... I have it on good authority... that there is going to be *something else cool* that is going to be happening there. I'll have more info after the fact, hopefully I'll be able to make it down there and document things myself, but I don't know. It's kind of a tight window for me, so we'll see.

That looks like a stone cold blast.

I did notice that there is a rib category for the competition. Is it safe to assume they do not mean pork ribs?

Yes, I assumed beef ribs. I was there when they were ordering on the phone meats for the BBQ demonstration and was wondering why they weren't ordering any pork - then I heard it was a kosher BBQ festival. lol. Well, duh. I think the demo is going to be chicken, turkey and lamb. I'm really hoping I can make it down for this, it definitely looks like fun, and I want to be there for the ummm.... the thing. Yeah, you know, the thing. lol

Could be lamb or mutton ribs.

Nice looking pit. Everything from burgers to whole hog. Definitely outside the box thinking. 🫢
