Spaniards know how to celebrate with food! Mark your calendars and make travel arrangements for this unique foodie event coming up in late August. It makes the Running of the Bulls look like a slumber party for toddlers. If it were a movie, it would get a perfect 100% score from Rotten Tomatoes.
Needless to say, I’m shocked that AR hasn’t promoted it or partnered with the event organizers. Meathead , please tell me you’ve attended or your culinary credibility will be diminished.
I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins, steak and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds.
My outdoor kitchen has a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable and it is wonderful. There also is a Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate Griddle and a Pit Boss Copperhead pellet grill.
There is an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.
Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
I’m afraid poor Mosca would just be at his wits’ end, despairing of this massive violation of his tomato rule.
We have the Pittston Tomato Festival. NEPA likes to engage in hyperbole, calling Pittston “the tomato capital of the world”, Old Forge “the pizza capital of the world”, etc.. 20 years ago it was pretty amazing, with a tomato (spaghetti) sauce cookoff, a chili cook off, a tomato fight, a really good farmer’s market, and lots of cottage industry food goods; I went last year and it was all food trucks and commercial businesses, no cook offs, no fresh produce, and almost no local artisan foods. Much of it was very good, but I was still disappointed. I used to go mostly for the produce.
It looks like this year some of the local flair is returning. But parking is a pain in the ass, it’s crowded, and stuff is pretty expensive, so I dunno if I’m going to make it this year.
this looks like fun but there are a bazillion events so we don't promote many (any?). We normally do not approach companies for "partnerships" because that can damage our independence and credibility. I have been to Spain twice and LOVE the place.
