I decided on the Primo XL for my summer kitchen due to stellar reputation in this group. Question - what accessories do y’all recommend? I was thinking the divider plate for dual zone, ceramic deflector plates and deflector rack. Thanks for any help!

I found those accessories you mentioned to be the ones I used the most. Essential for two zone cooking. You can invert one half of your cooking grate to get it lower for searing on the hot side. Maybe an expansion rack and you’re set. You’re gonna love this cooker. (Like an idiot I sold my Primo several years ago.🙄)

- Agree with above folks...BUT look at the Ceramic Grill Store and get thr CGS Grid Stone Holders (hold the d-plates) much smarter, stouter and safer design, than Primo's offering.
- While shopping at CGS grab a couple of ceramic spacers for under your drip pan. Helps in air flow, heat dissaption and limits fat burn off in drip pan.
- I have both half racks for second deck cooking. Use both of them frequently especially with beef ribs.
As said you are going to love this cooker. It is my go to Kamado and only Primo I have. My BGE's are used but I have a feeling they feel a bit neglected.

Thanks for the help everyone! I ended up ordering the Primo XL yesterday as it was discounted and after going on the company chat function, was given another $80 off!
this leads to a follow up question - I need a temporary table to use until I move in to my next house (new build summer kitchen ongoing). I’ve looked around and it appears the cheapest option for something f portable but fitting the Primo is $300 or more. Any suggestions?

-That $300 Primo cart is probably your best option if you are going to be using the primo prior to new house being finished. It is well made. I used it before I had our outdoor kitchen installed. My neighbor has it now and its still going strong.
- You might call Primo and ask if they would sell you the cradle that the "all in one XL" sits in. I have not heard great things about that cradle though.
- Lastly if you are not going to use the Primo leave it boxed up on the pallet.
- I would be hesitant to tempt fate with something like a flat top utility cart snd trying to cook on that.

Thanks! I was going to look around my area and see if there's a used Primo XL specific cart for sale. If not, figure I could likely try and sell that one used once I move into the new house. It would kill me to have the Primo sit in my garage for 4-5 months! Right now I'm using a basic chimney propane smoker and would love to start trying out the Primo

etronsman I know what you mean. That primo cart is nice. Over on the Primo Forum there is one guy who had his outdoor kitchen incorporate his Primo XL cart snd all.
That inner peace you will get knowing your baby is snug as a bug in a rug is worth it, vice looking for something that is not up to the job.
