Weber Summit Kamado with SnS and Vortex.. Broil King Baron, Primo Oval Junior. Primo XL. Love grilling steaks, ribs, and chicken. Need to master smoked salmon. Absolutely love anything to do with baking bread. Favorite cool weather beer: Sam Adams Octoberfest Favorite warm weather beer: Yuengling Traditional Lager. All-time favorite drink: Single Malt Scotch
Question for the Pit. If you were going to downsize, which grill would you part with?
1) Weber Summit Kamado
2) Primo XL
3) Primo Junior
I need to part with one of the above. I just don’t use all my grills anymore. I hate to see them sitting around unused. Which would you choose, and why?
Given the options above I’d part with the Primo XL. The Weber gives you capacity and the Primo Jr gives you a great everyday cooker. I’d be hard pressed to get rid of that Weber, that’s one terrific cooker.

Reason: Edit to add: primo’s are great cookers too.
If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
I would get rid of the Primo Junior. Why? Because it is smaller than the XL, and the XL will be much better if you want to do a 2 zone setup. And let's be honest... no one ever said "I wish my grill were smaller"... You can fit stuff on the XL you can't fit on the junior, and therefore it is the more versatile of the two.
Keep the Summit as being a metal kettle style kamado, it is much faster to heat up and use for grilling like you would a Weber kettle. I would use the Primo XL for really long smokes, the Summit for most grilling, and know you could grill/smoke on both when the need arises...
There are a LOT of times, at least in summer, I need two cookers going - one setup for smoking, the other for grilling, to get the meal done outside. If you are going to be down to 2, I think that is another reason to keep the larger Primo.
Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
I frequently use my Weber Kettle with the S&S in place for smaller cooks like hot dogs or two burgers; I just use that part as a small grill. The 14” Smokey Joe is rendered moot by that configuration. So I’d say the same with the Primo Junior.
How often do you use both the Summit and the XL at the same time? I can honestly say I’ve used my Weber and BGE together less than 5 times in 10 years.
I use my Performer and my SNS Kamado at the same time if I need to grill sides or something to go with what I am smoking for dinner, or am making say chicken and pulled pork. Or if I need to smoke butts for a party and cannot fit them on one cooker, I'll smoke on both the kettle and kamado. It may only happen a couple of times a year, but when you need the grill space, and don't have it, you are in trouble...
I don’t know what your cooking needs are, so this is a stab in the dark. I would keep the junior for cooking for 2-4 and the XL for large gatherings. I suppose the could replace the XL.

I am in the same boat I have a Primo XL that I don’t use that much, it is too big for the two of us. I also have a Traeger pellet grill, Napolean kettle, Napolean gas grill and a PittBoss griddle. I have thought about getting rid of the Primo XL.
TripleB I use them for almost everything. Brisket, pork butt, country style ribs, ham, ribs, chicken, salmon... If you can smoke it...

I see some folks saying to keep the Junior and get rid of the XL, but I think that is the wrong way. One great thing about the XL is the ability to do a 2 zone setup - which you can also do on your Summit of course. That means if you are grilling just for 2, and not smoking, its no big deal to make a smaller fire, in just one side of the firebox.
I often cook on my SNS Kamado or my Performer for two by using the SNS insert to build my fire, containing the coals to about 1/3 of the cooking grate.
I would let the smallest one go. I agree with jfmorris. I have a kettle, a Bronco, a wsm and a Chimp. There have been numerous times where i had 3 of them going at once for family gatherings or holidays. More cooking area is always nice.
