Okay friends. I just inquired with KJ again to see if I can get any movement on a replacement. it is only a $37 part, but I don't care. I am really hoping that they will make this right. Hopefully, I will have something positive to report later today or tomorrow.
For the record, I have had good luck with KJ in the past, and I have always recommended them to people. So I hope they will make this right and I can continue to do so.
One would think. Who knows, maybe they will get back to me today and all will be taken care of. Honestly, the fire box is still operable, but it would be nice to have the extra in case this one breaks when I try to remove it. Alan Brice

They did take care of me. Not the way I would like, but they did honor the warranty. I do have some movement on the new firebox base. They are sending me a new one........in 1.5 months. I guess this is kind of a victory for me. I get a new firebox. (Hopefully) Yet I have to wait 1.5 months to get it. Funny, when you give them money, they ship it in 2-3 days, when you ask them to hold up a warranty, they ship it in a month a half.
The good thing is, the cracked firebox is still serviceable. So as long as I do not need to remove it for anything, I should be fine. Now I will have a back up coming in.
Like I said, at least they are replacing it. That is what really matters. Email is posted below.
Eh, not the best, but I gotta hand it to them, they are replacing it without too much fuss. For some reason, the fact that they won't let me post a review of the product is kind bothersome. They only allow for reviews that are 4-5 stars apparently. DavidNorcross
I’m a little obsessive when it comes to researching major purchases. Two things that throw up red flags for me are reviews by people who were given the product and no low reviews. No matter how good a product is there are going to be a few people who bitch about something. It’s all about showing all facets of your product. If there’s a problem show off your warranty response etc.
Exactly. I would think it is a way to show people that you support your customers when there is an issue. Anytime you are making something at scale, there are gonna be problems, it is how you respond that matters to me. Oak Smoke

Whelp. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home yesterday......Kamado Joe delivered my replacement fire ring base yesterday. That is ahead of schedule. Now I have a back up incase the one that is cracked totally fails on me.
The new one showed up in fine condition. It is going on the storage shelf for now.
Kamado Joe honored their promise to replace the product. Good on them.
