    Small cracks under the band

My dome has become misaligned and as I went to fix it I noticed small cracks under the band. How bad is this? And if so what can i do to stop it cracking any further? Thanks

I don't think it's anything to worry about, although I know it's disappointing.

Looks like a KJ. If you're the original purchaser you should contact them about dealing with that under the lifetime warranty.

Yeah my next step was to contact them in regards to the lifetime warranty. But i might keep cooking with it and see if it gets worse before making a claim. Thanks

awhiew you can go on and make the claim when ever you like. They don’t want the old pieces back. You can keep the new part in the garage until you feel you really need it. They are going to want a few pictures and a few details, then they send your new part. We once had a member who claimed to have built 3 big green eggs from warranty parts. If I hadn’t thrown away my old KJ classic dome I could order the metal pieces and have another KJ.

You have received good advice about using your warranty. I have used mine on my BGE twice, and like most Kamado warranties their response was excellent. I still have the base for my BGE with a slight crack. I really don’t need another BGE so I use it as a fire pot. You could drill holes in the bottom and turn it into a great ceramic flower pot.

bbqLuv also has cracks under his band. Unfortunately for us, those cracks are under his hat band.
