So I pulled the trigger for a Kamado Joe II, bought the floor model, only one they had left. Only damage was to the gasket and the locking mechanism, otherwise it was in great shape. Had delivery yesterday, when I got home and opened the lid, big crack just below the lip on the base. Sent the store (Premier Grilling) an email with pic this morning, will call them tomorrow as I haven't received a response. Also sent an email to KJ to see what they will do. Frustrating.

Over the years I have dealt with Kamado Joe warranty three times. I have no complaints at all. They ask a few questions and had me send a picture of the crack. They sent me which ever part I needed immediately. Don’t throw this one away glue it back together with some Rutland high temp sealant. Our departed friend EdF claimed to have built 3 big green eggs using warrantied parts.Comment

Received an email from KJ today, shipping a new base. Very impressed, sent them one email with pictures and that's all they needed. Awesome customer service!Comment

Received a package from them today... boxed looked a little small.. paperwork on box said it was a base... however inside the box sat a lid. Received a reply within an hour of emailing them, replacement base should arrive in a couple of weeks... Now to figure out what to do with the second unit
