I like it A LOT! Its not great in the wind but when its calm it cast a nice heat about 5-6 feet each way! xaugievike
-
I kinda dig the concept of the whole mass of that thing warming up instead of just the hood up top like the propane ones do.
-
Its just a nice pleasing thing. Like a wood stove. You see the fire. You feel the heat. I enjoy it. xaugievike

Congratulations! You will love it in the winter and when you sleep through the night on a 12 hour low and slow cook. It looks like you got the large which should suffice for most cooking situations. I have done 40# pounds of Boston Butt on mine with one load of charcoal in a 22 hour cook. Have fun!

You will LOVE that Performer. Trust me on that. LA Pork Butt

Tim, I got one and I'm going to try and avoid the Nikes and waiting on the Mothership. : )

BGE + Performer = match made in heaven. Performer excels at grilling, but can do low & slow. BGE excels at low & slow, but can grill. There’s just enough overlap in technique that you can use them for all grilling, all low & slow, or mixed.

Welcome to the fantastic world of ceramics. I cannot say my KJ is my favorite cooker because they all have their place in my stable of cookers, however I do believe if I had to go back to only one It would be the one I would not give up. They are so incredibly versatile from searing, baking, grilling and smoking they can do it all. For smoking make sure and make yourself a smoke pot, it will change your life! Enjoy!
