I had not heard of this cooker until this morning, 29 inches!! This has disrupted my entire thoughts in adding a second Weber E6 Kamado. A lot more money, so it would take me some saving, and we would have to re arrange patio space a bit. but… must see them.
Has anyone had the opportunity to see one of these in person?
You know for $100 less the Weber Ranch is 37" and it comes on a stand with 4 wheels😉. The BGE has a hinged lid which I suppose is a big plus for you though
The ranch be would be too big for me to move and operate lid, and clean up. “if” I went the XXL route, we would need to make a permanent nest spot, a sacrifice here and there../ but huge outdoor oven would be fantastic! This would need to wait until 2027 is my guess.
I’ve also heard Gozney is coming out with a XL Dome… ughhh… so many things I want, lol

Yeah I have the weber 24 Kamado and absolutely love it, was totally planning on adding a second one after I sold my 22wsm, but now I’m left being patient and saving.

Yea I have seen them. There is a hardware store and meat store not too far from me, both have the BGE lineup on display. The XXL is the way to go if you are going to get one!
My plan was to buy a 2nd Summit Kamado, but if I can figure out how to fit a 29 in my patio, I would prefer one really big one for large cooks, and wheel the summit around when needed.

If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
I've seen the XXL a couple of times - most recently at my local Ace. It's big enough to shove a person into, if you are looking for a place to hide the bodies...
I think you need to see it in person, so you can see how easy it is to open and close the lid. I know they have some good spring assist on those, but still a consideration. Also, handling the larger grate, diffuser, etc. I am sure everything is heavier.
I personally kinda like the idea of one BIG grill versus two smaller ones. But as someone else pointed out, two of the Webers may be cheaper than one of the BGE XXL's.
Another option is a Ranch kettle, if you are looking for a big cooking grate!
Jim all valid points, and all things I need to consider, especially lid weight and grate weight, for cleaning and taking down. But I’m very interested in 1 super large oven outside, with something like the summit Kamado, or honestly even my 22 kettle being the daily driver.
I probably will not use it enough to justify it, but using it enough is not always the needed justifier, just how much do I like it when it is in use. Does it make my life easier on big cooks__?
