BGE is celebrating the 50th anniversary (1974-2024) I was emailed a reminder to register my egg. I’ve been an Egghead for over 30 years and had not registered my Egg. (If I did I had no idea where the receipt is) You owners may know that the base and the dome have serial numbers. I was able to register my egg last summer. Spring cleaning is here and I noticed my fire ring and fire box were both cracked. I was able to get replacements no both under warranty. If you haven’t register, please do so. I went to a local hardware store and BGE dealer, it couldn’t been easier. What a great company and super service.

I actually had a problem re-registering my BGE during the recent system changeover! I’d had both the dome and the base replaced, and none of the numbers lined up with their system. I had to get my dealer involved. But I’m good with it now.
After years of resting on their reputation and “mystique”, and ignoring the progress around them, BGE has taken a lot of positive steps recently, shedding their insularity and cult-like status for a more positive and inclusive message.
It’s a great product, with unmatched support. I’ve heard more than one story of them honoring warranty claims for BGEs that toppled in windstorms, or were knocked over by pets, or where the dome came off and crashed. All you need is a photo of your broken BGE. One of those stories was told to me by my dealer. I’m not sure it’s still true, though. Anyhow, great to read your experience!
I ran a cracked fire box like that one for several years before I had to install the warranty ones I was saving in the shop. Mine was a KJ but still the same principle.
Their warranty is among the best. I had mine for 15 years and have replaced the base and the fire ring. Now Mosca has me worried since I did not re register my egg when they opened up the opportunity to register if you have never done so before.
