New to BGE, what is this piece called?

    Hi all!
I recently purchased a used Medium BGE. It came with a variety of items so I'm learning a bit. What is this round wire cage called? At first it looked like a eggspander, but I'm not sure. Any help is appreciated!

That actually appears to be part of the rack system for a Kamado Joe not a Big Green Egg.

But hey... if it fits in your Medium you've got yourself a handy rig for using a wok.

That looks exactly like the frame for the divide and conquer system on both my Kamado Joes. If you have the ceramic heat deflectors you can set up for two zone cooking. It’s a very versatile system.

I can't find it on the big green egg site, the kamado joe site or the CGS site, but it may be a rig to hold both the eggspander and the grid. The eggspander would go into the lower level and the grid onto the top level. Then you can use the handles to lift the eggspander and the grid (and the meat) out of the smoker all at once in order to add coals in a long cook. I have a newer version in my large BGE and find it VERY useful. Check to see if the eggspander fits in the lower level and the grid fits in the upper level. If they do, that is probably your answer.

Good luck and I hope that is what it is, very handy tool.

Siouxfan It was driving me crazy. I found the newer version of this on the BGE site. Here it is; https://biggreenegg.com/products/egg...eggtor-basket/
Sorry, don't know how to post a link, but if you scan through the images on this page, you will see it is almost identical. I think this is your accessory, you just have an older version.

There's quite a black market for those.

        So I've heard...

Definitely a Kamado Joe product. See if it fits and let us know.

Thanks everyone! It does look like they are Kamado Joe Racks: KJ-FCR: Flexible Cooking Rack and KJ-XR: X Accessory Ring. I know the rack does fit in the Medium BGE, but ill do some playing to see what I can do.

Actually, that is called a "Woo" that is an after market product to make the Egg more versatile. They are really handy. It works similar to the EggSpander. They were developed before BGE got on the train of making things more versatile. Great product and really handy.
