    New Akorn

My wife told me no more grills. Or anything to cook outside. In my defense the door rusted off my master built electric cabinet smoker and I needed a replacement. Picked this up today at Lowes as a gift to myself. It was on clearance and couldn’t pass it up.

There was a recent thread that had some tips:

Just finished the seasoning process. Looking forward to the first cook....just in time for Christmas! I'd love suggestions and ideas

Congratulations and well done on the shopping!

The akorn is a great value already and to get one on clearance is phenomenal. Do you mind sharing what you ended up paying?

Bravo, that's a steal! Tell your wife that some internet stranger agreed that you basically HAD to buy that. Then make her favorite on it as the inaugural cook. Good luck.

I got my Akron on sale as well and i knew it was a good way to learn about low and slow cooking and I am glad I did. I cooked some good bbq on my Akron unfortunately the wind blew it off my deck and damaged it, then I sold it and bought a primo XL.
