I was off work today, lounging at home, browsing the internet. And I decided to check CraigsList for a WSM 18.5. I've been wanting to get one to go with my WSM 22.5, which I bought brand new last year.
I found an ad for a brand-new-in-the-box WSM 18.5 for $125. I thought the guy must have meant $225, so I replied and inquired. He confirmed that the WSM was brand new in the box, and that the price was $125. I told him I'd buy it.
He gave me his address and I picked it up. As it turns out, he won it last year. But he's a devoted Kettle man, and thought he'd never want to use the WSM. So I guess he wanted to price it to sell quick.
On top of that, there were some accessories in an unopened cardboard box that came with the WSM (it was part of the prize he won). We opened it and found 2 bags of Weber wood chunks, 2 Weber grill gloves, and a Weber BBQ cookbook.
All that for $125. I've assembled the WSM, and it's perfect.
Sometimes the sun shines, even on an old dog.

Craigs list seems to be pretty slim pickin's from what it was a few years ago. I used to get a lot of scores on CL but now I think a lot of it has moved to Face Book which I have no intentions of signing up for.
