    Looking For WSM Door Upgrades

If I change the door on my WSM what are the results? I have put seals on all the seems. What are my options for doors?

I spent the money on a door. Old style WSM. I SAW NO GAIN. I did not upgrade the door on the new WSM. I have no issues controlling temp.

Are you having temp control issues?

No temp problems. I just see a few WSM with the door changed. Had my WSM for years just curious.

To be honest There's no gain that I can see other than you have a door that Harry Soo likes. LOL Don't get me wrong I have the upmost respect for Harry.

If it’s leaking around the door you can put a gasket around it from www.bbqgaskets.com but the answer to your question will be www.cajunbandit.com

Thanks for the link, DW, I've been meaning to install one for a while and forgot where to get it.

The Cajunbandit door is heavy gauge stainless steel and is difficult to bend. It has a much better latch than the original latch. Is it a necessity - No. And I think you can get just the latch. I think as long as there is a gasket on the door, and you can still latch the door shut, you should be good to go.

I agree with the others. Since you already have the gaskets you’re all set.

I've done a ton of mods to my WSM, but have not changed the door. However, I did put a gasket around it that reduced a few leaks.

Although not a huge gain, with the Cajun bandit door you get a tight, positive locking latch, 305 heavy gauge stainless and most importantly you get something that will last. That cheap tin foil piece of garbage door they give you won’t last. Kind of disappointing out of Weber imho.

I bought a cajun door and I really like it. I just ordered a gasket kit for $13 and I'll report my findings.
