how can my 22 wsm be 70 degrees off from one side to the other???? I'm using the donut method with water in pan, have 2 ambient probes from fireboard on either side, only second time using it but I bought it used so its seasoned, also I used last week and did the same process kept temp. right at 225 for 10 hrs. with minor adjustments,, also moved the probes and the temp followed them so there working ....

Are you using the water pan, whether dry or w/ water? If so, is the higher temp on the same side as the lit part of the charcoal?
Edit: Oh I see you're using the donut method. Gotta be just turbulent airflow and I suspect it will level out shortly.

Yep. Seems like time heals all temp differences. This is what I have usually found. You can drive yourself nuts!

It happens. It's not a bad thing. Like Lonnie says time makes them all match up at some point and when it gets close I take a picture : )
