DrDey, you don't have to choose if you have space and money. However, I felt the same way when I started this site. Everyone was ranting and raving about PBC's. Kind of easy to get caught up in it. I already had a 18.5 WSM and I love the way it works (temp control mostly). The only thing I was missing is a hanging option. So now that I know how to do that I am staying with the WSM. I do now wish I had gotten the 22.5 WSM but it has not really been a problem yet. I don't exactly cook for the multitudes. Nor want to. Hope this helps.
