    PBCs First Trip

I'm up in Stowe Vermont for my brother-in-laws college graduation. I brought the PBC up for a BBQ tomorrow. Doing pulled pork, ribs and chicken. I'm used to cooking at less than 100 feet above sea level. Here in at 1800. I know it's still less than 2000, but it's pretty close. I'm guessing I should move the bottom vent to a little less than half open?

Yes, roughly half and you’ll be fine. PBC road trip - cool! 👍🏻

At 1800 ft. msl., your vent should be set to look a bit like this:

It might take a little bit of adjustment, but not much. I am at about 650 Ft ASL, I never really put much stick in where to set the bottom damper in relation to elevation. I simply move it according to wind, humidity and ambient temps. I think that had way more to do with it than what elevation you are cooking at. Even when I go out to MT, I don't find that it makes much of a difference. I feel like the environmental factors have much more of an impact.
