Firing up my PBC for the first time tomorrow!

    Overall I'm very pleased with how the cook went! My fuel died around 3:30pm with the PB's at 171. I double wrapped them in foil and put them in the oven to finish at 203. They finished about a half hour apart.
    I've got them in a 170 degree oven now and will wrap them in towels and toss them in the cooler before I leave for work tonight. I'm going to leave half of a pork butt behind for my wife and her friends for their dinner tonight.
    Thanks for all the help guys it really took some of the pressure off!
    I also managed to sleep for about 4 hours!

      You've got some guts to make your maiden cook on anything something where you are making food for others. Nice job! Enjoy your meal and I hope you have a quiet evening.

        Great success!
        Came out perfect. Super juicy and I didn't lose too much bark texture from the wrap. Basically fell apart. Didn't take any pictures because everyone dove in! Rave reviews.

        You're golden. Great job!! I have to say, the PBC is probably my least favorite of my 4 cookers, but it makes really good chicken and a surprisingly good butt. You are now a legend among your co-workers no doubt.

            Good stuff, glad it went over well. Like so many night-shifters, I'm not able to sleep, so I'm up browsing. Hope ya'll are having a good night in the hospital, I'm already dreading going back tonight! Great job on the cook, your coworkers deserve some pork butt!
