​ ​ So while the kids are visiting their grandparents, wifey and I had a little weekend getaway to Subic Bay​ We had lunch at Texas Joes, a well known BBQ joint at Subic Freeport we thought we might share with you all. The ambience was nice, kinda humorous seeing Filipina gals dressed the part, but hey. We decided to order a sample platter each to taste test most everything they offered. While the brisket and the coleslaw were both pretty good, the ribs were a bit too dry, not very flavorful, but the sauce on the side helped....a bit. The shrimp wasn't very impressive and not fully peeled as one might expect and the chicken was borderline awful, I managed a couple bites, but Cynthia spit out the first bite and said they ought to get a few PBC's and cook it right!!! But the brisket was wonderful and looking forward to our 1st brisket attempt on our PBC. Anyhoo, here's a few pics of our not so memorable lunch & a few more pics of our time in Subic. ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
