I decided to do a rack of ribs for the Super Bowl. We weren't having a party, just me, my wife, and our daughter. My daughter asked for steak and I had a rack of baby backs and a strip steak in the freezer. Perfect, right?
I plated her steak off the Weber kettle, went back out to get the ribs off the PBC, I had sauced them maybe 20 minutes earlier and re hung them and knew they should be perfect. What could go wrong?
I opened the lid and the ribs were gone. I just stared at my empty hook for a minute. It was like the rapture for ribs. Finally it dawns on me they fell off the hook. At this point it was after sunset and I couldn't see them at the bottom of the barrel. So I got a flashlight and lo and behold they fell so they laid acros the handle and edges of the charcoal pan and didn't touch any coals. I grabbed them with tongs and they were fine.
Not sure what happened. The ribs didn't come apart. Just somehow slid off the hook.
Hope everyone ebnjoyed the game. Oh, and no pics. They devoured the scrumptious fare.
