    New PBC toys

I was on the PBC site today and they have some new accessories.

Many of us already use a compact chimney as they work better in the barrel. It appears they have been paying attention and now have a custom-sized chimney. They also have custom Grill Grates. But what I really hope shows up in my stocking this Christmas is the coffee mug shaped like a PBC. It's adorable, and I can't believe I actually used that word. They also have PBC koozies and a frosted beer stein, which I was kind of "meh." But the coffee mug, its awesome looking, at least in the pics.

Thanks for the heads up... I will have to go check it out.

I should be getting the chimney. The mug is a cutey complete with faux vent.

The faux vent is really a nice touch. I just wish the handle looked like a horseshoe.

I have their mug, and it's great. You just have to make sure you do the pre-heating procedure correctly or your coffee won't stay warm long enough, or the temp could spike, or both, and they recommend the bottom vent stays closed regardless of your elevation or it will dribble.

I actually have this and it fits in the PBC perfect and only takes 10 mins to ash over. Plus save $5 and free shipping

I use the Weber compact chimney. I find it works well. I know a few people here prefer this one.

I like this one too. Much faster than the others for getting those 40 coals ashed over. Plus it's good for searing steaks--more real estate than the average chimney. I did get the BBQ Dragon chimney, though, and that should work well for steak searing too. I have enough chimneys now, though.

I like the Half Time chimney, but to be honest it's too wide for my taste. Can't help but wonder if the PBC one might be more up my alley. I'm not buying a third chimney though, I will be content wondering.

Dang I found a coffee mug that I think I like better at Wal-Mart that does the exact same thing as a PBC coffee mug and it was under $5.00 so it is cheaper too.... lol

Anyway... I think the cool thing about PBC adding the Chimney Starter to their shop is that it shows Noah and Amber are listening to consumer feedback (I know someone from PBC pops in the pit every once in a while) and finding ways to implement ideas if they seem feasible.

The other reason I think it is smart is if you are new to the BBQ scene and/or this is your first charcoal cooker purchase then it allows the user to purchase more of what they need or want in one place. Or if you are a buying it as a gift for someone it could be a bit of an impulse buy because you want them to have everything they are going to need. This will add a few dollars to their bottom line. I would venture to say the shipping on this thing will or could be free as well and you get a $2 Kingsford coupon.

Also as Huskee pointed out, I would guess that they have made this thing to fit the PBC for best possible use. The reviews seem favorable so far.

Now we must wait and see if they come out with the Jerod Broussard mod kit (intake pipes and exhaust stack)... the cheaper way to turn your PBC into a Gateway.... lol

I popped on over to the PBC site yesterday and ordered a koozie and the mug. Those accessories will help with my PBC cooks, for sure. Love the design of the mug. Of course I could have waited to see if Santa would bring them to me, but he never goes on the PBC site. He's too busy eating the PBC taste treats I keep feeding him all year long.

I think it's great that the Pit Barrel folks are offering such well-thought-out accessories that are tailor-made to fit the PBC dimensions, such as the chimney and the Grill Grates. I tried to get Grill Grates for the PBC from the GG site about a year ago but without success. Couldn't get any feedback at the time from the GG site, although they've stepped up their game in customer response since. I'd get them now from the PBC folks except for the fact that I use my almost-new Weber Summit Charcoal GC for most of my grilling needs.

Noah and Amber, if you are reading this, congrats on building such a great company that continues to be attuned to customer needs, education, and convenience! Click image for larger version Name:	smiles-pom1.gif Views:	6 Size:	2.2 KB ID:	250454

DWCowles ... this coming from the guy that constantly tells everyone he wants to see pics? I know you have seen pics of cooked and smoked meats before and different cookers... Yet we all still want to see pics and see pics of people using their new toys!

Nate pics of people's cooks and cookers is a hell of a lot different then a pic of a mugs, koozies and an ash pan. Which reminds me do you not cook on your PBC or COS anymore because we never see pics of them.

DWCowles , I'm ashamed to say I haven't used my COS as much this year since getting the PBC and SnS. As far as me posting pics... I never have posted a lot of food pics.. Not sure why but mostly it is just that I think about it after the fact. Admittedly I need to get better about that.

I think PBC should offer some aprons.

I love aprons. You all possibly remember the one I machine embroidered for myself a while back, swiping the line from this meme that Huskee posted

Here's the apron I machine embroidered from that inspiration:

Hey, thanks, Nate , DWCowles and Obi-Dan. Jerod Broussard, I think your wife should embroider that "what kind of weather" saying onto an apron for you.

Yep - have the mug, Koozies and PBC Charcoal Chimney. Waiting for the T Shirt, Polo Shirt, Hat, Apron, Matches and Key Chain... lol. I will say the chimney does take a little longer than the compact Weber chimney because it has a solid plate with holes instead of a open wire support but no worries, just gives me a couple more minutes to finish my beer.

Nate I emailed PBC ad suggested stickers like everyone else has and they told me they are now shipping stickers with new PBC purchases. So I asked for one and they gladly sent it. I'm sure they would do the same for you.
