If there was a way to search the 180+ pages of posts, I wouldn’t be posting this. But (to my knowledge) there is not.
I plan to smoke 3 racks of baby backs on my PBC this weekend. Years ago, I bought the T-shaped skewers that can be hooked. They remain unused. I was thinking about smoking potatoes (like baked) and another root vegetable. What are your experiences?
I have the Oklahoma Joe skewers and they work fine. Just be careful of hand placement when skewering a raw potato.
It starts out hard, then shoots right through...
I prefer the half grate to do potatoes and hang the meat on the other side.

You will be fine. I've used them for hanging a variety of things. I did switch from the PBC ones to the Oklahoma Joe ones as the OKJ ones have three "legs" and are self-standing. If you need to stand up the PBC ones, you have to precariously lean them up against something.
(Ask me how I know and I will tell you how big of a mess a fallen-over tacos-al-pastor can make on the counter.)
