    PBC Damage

Sunday evening as I was finishing up smoking some Country Style Ribs I dropped the lid to the PBC and bent the lip. Knowing this would greatly affect the airflow in the future and that the PBC is my go to smoker it needed to me remedied, so I went to the PBC website and ordered a new lid. Ordered late Sunday evening and it was delivered about 2 PM on Tuesday...Shout out to PBC for such a quick turn-around and shipping...

A rubber mallet and some gasket tape help it at all?

Definitely could of been straightened out with some large vice grips and mallet. Try to fix the old one and save it. Glad you were able to get a new one quickly.

Ah man. Sorry to hear about the damage, but glad they helped you out so quick.

Way back when I got my PBC, I lost my grip on the lid. Luckily I managed to catch it on the way down and only had a small dent on the upper side of the edge of the lid. A couple smacks with a metal working hammer and it works fine. Doesn’t look great but works fine thankfully!

Just drop the barrel on that lip and you should have a custom fit again!

I have been having a huge air flow issue around the lip anyway, the only way to get it under control has been putting binder clips around the lip. So I didn't want add to the air leakage with an imperfect repair job.

Plus you get that nice new finish on the new lid, will make the whole thing appear new. My lid is showing some bad weathering as well, it could use a refresh but that's a steep price unless you *need* it, as in your case.

It's nice to see that PBC's commitment to excellent customer service has not changed over the years.

I dented my lid a few years back (my PBC lid, not my head). Helped with keeping the lid tight on the drum. Works great!!
