    What is the approximate distance between the coals and the hanging ribs or chicken on a grate?

    EDIT: I dug around a bunch and finally found a picture that helped me.

      jitsntricks - How about up to the grate that I see in the Sticky "Mods" thread??

      I'm thinking about modifying my Weber 22" kettle, looking to get a PBC type of elevated cooking area as well as incorporate the Weber gasser rotissierie.

      Yeah, I'm retired, and have way more time than money.

      Smoker_Boy - Sorry I misunderstood your question. I'd say it's probably at least 24" from grate level to the coal basket, probably a little more actually.

      Actually at the website: https://thebarbecuelab.com/pit-barrel-cooker/ ... it lists 24-26" from coals to cooking surface.
