Took the PBC for the maiden voyage last night, ribs were amazing! (see what I did there). Just curious if you guys cover your PBC or just leave out? I live in NC, so I deal with alot rain and hot humid summers, winters are mild with little snow.
Thanks,
Matt
Most of the time I keep my PBC in the garage. The few times I've left it outside overnight I used a 55 gal. plastic drum liner bag to cover it. No rust after more than a year.

I keep mine outside on a covered slab. I have a PBC cover on it whenever it's not hot. Bought from the PBC site ... It fits well and seems to be well made.
When I first got it, I left it outside without a cover. After a few harsh Northern California weeks, the exterior started to get dirtier than I like to see. So I bought the cover offered on their website and have been very happy with it.
I just got mine yesterday. I too live in NC, the central part of it. I bought the cover with mine, and was pretty pleased with the quality. We'll see how it holds up/
I always cover my PBC. It is stored outside always. I bought the CoverMates Round Smoker cover 29"Diameter by 34"Height one. For $30.00 investment to protect a $300.00 investment is a no-brainer for me. That cover is on amazon.com. It has 2 mesh vents/screens built in to the cover so air can circulate out of it and the little bit bigger diameter makes putting the cover over my PBC a lot easier as well.
I heard some had luck with the Weber 9915 Vinyl 22" Smokey Mountain cover - so I bought it. Did not take long for the top to develop a leak - maybe two months I had used it before this happened. My theory is with some of the heavy winds maybe it wore down due to rubbing against the handle on the lid?

I too recommend the PBC cover that is sold for ~$30 on their web site. I've had it for a couple of years, and its a quality item. I keep the PBC on a covered patio, but here in Florida the climate is not known as dry and the PBC is holding up pretty good. The refrigerator that stands right next to it is turning back into iron ore.
Thanks guys, I ended up picking up a cheap kettle grill cover that works perfectly, even has a a drawstring to cinch it nice and tight. I'll be purchasing another for my Weber since the Weber cover isn't as good and tends to blow off during thunderstorms.
