    Pit Barrel Cooker Competition

    Hey Folks,
I was wondering if anyone would consider entering a barbecue competition for Pit Barrel Cooker only?
I am pretty new to competition cooking and do it to spend time with my grown kids.
I think it would be a great way to meet other PBC geeks and be sort of an opportunity to trade lessons learned on the PBC.
I live in the San Antonio area.

The PBC is really sort of the Apple of the barbeque world. It only makes sense that we start a convention for users!

That would be neat to see how everyone does their own little difference in cooking with it. No way I could make it out town anytime soon, though.

You know @jerod that is what I was thinking. I sent an email to Noah Glandville telling him I was thinking about putting something like this on and maybe he and his wife could be sort of the grand Marshall. Meet the PBC cookers in action.

He actually called. He loved the idea. He has some ideas that are a little bigger than mine but I think it would be fun. I'm not talking soon maybe July.

That would be a lot of fun! Great idea. Unfortunately, getting myself and the PBC down to San Antone maybe a bit of a logistical problem. But I would love to join if I lived closer to y'all. This would be a great hangout. If it comes together make sure you guys document the craziness.

Could do it in Lebanon, KS. Pretty much the center of the US. Or Clare MI then I'd only have to drive about 6 min to hang wich y'all. Two very awesome ideas.

You all do this in Clare and I'll buy me one of them cookers just to show up. I'll even get a PBC inked on my arm! Not sure if folks will know what it is thou.

I might think about driving down. Its only 10 hours. But it would be a great time.

Man love the enthusiasm. I was thinking local but Mr Noah is thinking big! He even has options to avoid people from having to haul the PBC. He is thinking a big family type event with weekend activities.

How about a Strasburg, CO event ... original home of the PBC? (and conveniently close to yours truly)

So if I go to Colorado do I get to use one of their cookers?

Not sure I could convince the wife to crack open the travel budget for a trip based on the PBC, but I would love to do it.

Pretty sure the wife would approve an hour drive.

I'm in the Dallas area and would be in as long as it's a little closer than Clare, MI .

My private jet is in the shop....My job actually gives us a mileage rate for air travel, in case we use our own personal plane to fly to the next plant 35 miles away and I guess land on the roof.

Could a plane even get to cruising altitude in 35 miles? I think the flight path would be one big arch.

I would probably consider a trip to Colorado, but I would fly, and I don't think I could get my PBC on the plane. Not sure about Texas unless it is Austin and includes a trip to visit Aaron Franklin!
