Is Pit Barrel Cooker Now Selling Weber Kettles?

I like my PBC just fine, and lots of people love them, but "The One Grill That Can Do It All"?
    Surely you jest.

Yes, I agree. The PBC can do marvelous things. But ALL things!?!

      I don't disagree.
I can see how it could be used as a grill, but not really conveniently.
Love my PBC, but I'll always have separate dedicated grill..

I have 2 of those, ones black for garbage, the other is green for recycling ;-)

That's a stretch. I have had a PBC for years and I've done it all, and it cannot do it all as good as specific cookers. Searing comes to mind. Yes you can grill steaks or bake a pie if you want to use 10lbs of charcoal doing it.

The PBC is a smoke-filled-eyes grilling experience.....no thanks.

Being able to raise the charcoal basket and grill at lid level is a must.

I’m actually surprised someone hasn’t modded their PBC with some kind of basket raising system. Personally I’d rather just get a second cooker but still people love to tinker

I’m guessing their sales have been decimated by the far superior and often less expensive Bronco, and now they’re desperate 😔.

The one thing it does not do well is direct heat grill. I watched the video on cooking things like hamburgers and steaks. tried it and it did not work out well. Unless you hang the fire basket from the rebar it will not sear. I use my Weber and my gas grill for that stuff.

Same here. I use the PBC for ribs, turkeys, bacon (LOTS of bacon), pork, etc. But steaks and burgers go straight on to the Performer or Spirit...

Love my PBC but getting a SnS Kettle is the perfect compliment. Love having the capacity, speed and reliability I get from my PBC but need the kettle for searing, smaller cooks, lower temps, etc.
