Do you adjust the position of your cooker based on wind?
was prepping for a cook tomorrow, and was thinking that since I set my PBC up when I got it last fall, I've always had the lower vent facing the same direction, regardless of wind direction. Usually it's a cross wind based on how my house aligns with the houses on either side of me.
how do you all play the wind?
Yes, most of the time I place my PBC in a non-windy spot in the backyard. But when things are wet and muddy I move my Black Beauty around to the side of the house. This gives me a fence post to attach an umbrella to incase it rains and pavers to walk on. It also puts me into the wind. If windy, I try to turn the opening at the bottom opposite the wind direction. But I'm still playing with this.
Never found it necessary with the PBC. Other smokers have given me issues with wind and cold but the Pit Barrel gets plenty hot for me even on the coldest snowy days.
