The Smackdown Begins - PBC VS THE BRONCO!

Alright Panhead John, don't think we've forgotten about your offer! How you going to settle up? I'll throw in some dollars if it helps. I think it should be given to one of the PBC entrants by a blind draw, so we can try to convert one😊 You could order it at a nearby Home Depot of the winner and they could pick it up there. Don't ship as it would get dented.Last edited by Northern lights smoke; August 1, 2022, 07:12 AM.

Retired, living in Western Mass. Enjoy music, cooking and my family.
Current cookers Weber Spirit 3 burner with a full insert griddle added. A 22" Kettle with vortex SnS and OnlyFire pizza oven. A Smokey Joe and the most recent addition a Pit Barrel Jr with bird hanger, 4 hooks and cover. ThermoWorks Smoke 2 probe, DOT, ThermoPops and a Thermapen MK4. 3 TempSpike wireless meat thermometers.
My turn. 1st day I did a recipe that is geared to gas grills. It's a Weber recipe. Backbeef Ribs in a Cabernet Sauce. Great taste fall of the bone good and simple. I adapted to the PBJ.
The 2nd day Stl. Cut ribs. Overnight with Meathead's Pork Rub. No sauce for me. Turned out just right. A meaty cut to boot.

WOW! Soo good! Cab sauce? Intriguing!!

Alan Brice something about the wine. Beyond the taste, it tenderizes the meat. It literally falls off the bone. I'm sure it would work with other cuts too.Last edited by RichieB; August 1, 2022, 03:44 PM.

Finally, my PBC entry. After cooking 50 burgers for lunch (and preaching) I didn't have the energy for another cook, so I fixed my wife's water feature instead. Doesn't make sense to me either. Leftover burgers for supper. Today I smoked a couple of chicken breasts and some wings. They've been marinating for a couple of weeks. I had them out and started the marinating in Italian dressing and then something came up and I put the bag into the freezer, until a couple of days ago. Put them on today. No sauce, other that the marinade due to my wife's digestive issues. Skin on the wings wasn't super crispy, but it was good. With a salad by my wife. I'll be at the other house tomorrow. Maybe the Bronco will get used.

Grampa at one time had a hundred milk goats. He was president of the American Dairy Goat Association and when the CROP organization would send goats to the Pacific they often bought from him or boarded them with him until they got shipped out of LA or Long Beach. The first time I ever milked by hand was one of his "girls".

Panhead John I'm still out of town a couple days. Team Bronco can breathe a sigh of relief!
Oh, and an awesome gesture with the giveaway.
I hate to admit it but when my PBC finally goes to that great cooker place in the sky it's replacement will likely be a Bronco. There. I said it.

Pretty damn good! The more I use this thing, the more I like cooking on it. In addition to the versatility the Bronco offers, it consistently puts out darn good cooks. I’ve only done one hung chicken before, but that one was a 1/2 chicken. It turned out pretty good, but not as good as this whole chicken. I used my favorite
