I don't drink a lot of straight bourbon, but if I am drinking it on the rocks, I drink Elijah Craig or Wild Turkey. My drink of choice is an old fashioned, and for that I like Old Forester.
FYI
Rye whiskey is not bourbon because the law specifies that it should contain 51% of corn mash. Rye whiskey is made with at least 51% rye mash.
Bourbon is a type of whiskey that must follow six rules to be considered bourbon. It must be made in the U.S., with a grain mixture of at least 51% corn. It must be distilled to no more than 160 proof (80% alcohol by volume), and aged in new, charred oak barrels. It may not enter the barrel at higher than 125 proof (62.5% alcohol by volume), and must be bottled at no less than 80 proof (40% alcohol by volume).
