The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

the good one grill

The Good-One Open Range is a charcoal grill with an offset smoke chamber attached. It is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. The grill sits low in front and doubles as a firebox for the smoke chamber which is spliced on above and behind so it can work like a horizontal offset smoker only better. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker

Griddle And Deep Fryer All In One

The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, and home fries. Or pancakes, fajitas, grilled cheese, you name it. Plus it has a built in cutting board, garbage bag holder, and paper towel holder. An additional work table on the left side provides plenty of counter space.

The Swiss Army Knife Of Thermometers

The smart folks at ThermoWorks have finally done it: The Swiss Army Knife of thermometers, two in one. Start with the industry standard food thermometer, the Thermapen MK4, (Platinum Medal winner) truly instant (2 to 3 seconds) precise (+ or – 0.7°F). Then they built in an infrared thermometer ideal for measuring the temps of pizza stones, griddles, and frying pans (also great for finding leaks around doors and windows in your house).

    Iced tea

We drink a lot of iced tea, and I was never happy with using tea bags, but that was all I thought was available. However, I found some loose leaf Assam black tea in Boston when visiting our son, (who now lives in Austin).

Using my Aeropress, it made great tea, and I found the same type of tea locally, and then I found Assam Golden Tips on Amazon. Everyone who tries it really likes it. So I thought I would post how I make it here just in case someone wants a break from their favorite adult beverage.

I use 2 grams of tea leaves per cup, (8 oz), of water. I have a half gal Mason jar reserved for tea, so I make 8 servings each time.
Place the leaves in a heatproof container, boil 8 oz of water and pour over the leaves. You can either place the leaves in a strainer or strain the tea after it has steeped for 5 min. (As mentioned above, I use my Aeropress and invert it to steep the tea.) I squeeze as much liquid out of the leaves as I can - the Aeropress makes this easy.

If you are making 8 oz, add ice and you are done - add sweetener if you like. If you are making more than 8 oz, pour the strained liquid into your container with the rest of the water. Refrigerate any leftover tea.

Man I love tea. My wife makes it ALL the time. Always a pitcher on the cabinet. Alas, kidney stones are worth avoiding. So I don't touch it.

    That stuff sounds goooood!

We also drink a lot of tea. Always looking for ways of making it better or varied.
We normally buy our leaves from. https://www.willoughbyscoffee.com/TEA.html
Will have to look into the Amazon offerings.

I make sweet tea almost daily. I use Luizianne tea from the store and just steep it for 3.5 minutes. I do have some delicious loose leaf tea from Maya Tea Company (flavor is Prickly Pear). That stuff is wicked delicious. But it’s caffeine free, so I only make it sometimes. Need caffeine!

I dearly loves me some tea, most often sweet tea, often 50/50 with some lemonade (Arnold Palmer), served in a Mason jar...
I typically make either Lipton, Luzianne, or a combination thereof...

Fer hot tea, in th mornin, I enjoy my Twinings Irish Breakfast Tea, an my Carrington English Breakfast Tea. Most usually, with no sugar.

Afternoon, or evenin hot tea, I roll all Jean Luc, cause I loves me some quality Earl Grey.

Yup, yer absolutely spot on, @RonB!
This is why one should remain ever vigilant, monitorin one's alcohol system, to prevent over-saturation by dilutants such as water, caffeine, an blood, - all potentially toxic, in sufficient dosage!
